Hey,
I'm about to order a 1.4Ghz processor and Abit KG7 today. Will a basic 300 Watt power supply do it if I'm wanting to OC? If not, I'd REALLY like to order a case and power supply combo that'll run it moderately OC'd. But needs to cost around $100, since I have to build 2 machines.....one for me, and one for my wife. :)
Any help would be appreciated........

no enermax 465
I'd grab an antec case with a 400 watt psu.

I've been using a 400w off brand, but it's awesome, and cheap too, only $30.00 USD.
POWMAX
Chekit out!
I'm running a 320W psu that came with my case. I've got most of my pci slots filled, cd rom, dvd, one hard drive, 2 80mm fans, 2 HDD coolers, and a 120mm fan, and a pci slot blower. My voltages drop a tiny bit under load, but I have not yet had problems.

get the antec sx-1030 (300w) or the antec sx-1040 (400w) the 1030 is around $80 and the 1040 is around $100. i have the 1030 and with all the stuff in my rig my 5v rail drops to 4.78 or 4.81 under load. antec is quality.

Ive been running a 300w on the board and chip combo everything has seemed ok but I would reconmend getting a larger PSU
For power I have to say,
Get a pc power and cooling
Turbo Cool 350 or better supply!
www.pcpowercooling.com
They are top of the line and have
the BEST regulation of all other
power supplys.
However you may need a few extra $$$
But it is worth it.

My Case came with a 300Watt Enlight - Enlight Case ;)
It works fine with my setup below with a DVD Drive and CD-RW
Bigger cant hurt but you could always try a case+PS unit just
keep an eye on the output with MBM. Then if you see Voltage
drops look for a bigger unit.
Good luck
You cant go wrong with Enermax. I have the 465 (430W) in my main computer and have a 365 (350W) in my second computer. They have never given me a problem.

There's a reason you keep hearing "Antec" over and over again- you might want to check out amd's recommended power supply page (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_756_759%5E1039%5E1053,00.htm) and take a look at the combined power output of the PP403X (400 watt)- the enermax 465 specs (not on AMD's list for some reason..) are here. .http://www.enermax.com.tw/products/eg-365p-vefca.htm . Their cases are superb as well.. did a lot of research before I finally decided the SX840 was worth the extra money, bit the bullet and ordered one. I was right- it was worth it..
Many of the 300's are just barely keeping the gig and a half alive with a rack full of drives, a case full of fans, and a testosterone dripping video card... let alone pushing the mhz envelope with one..
'course you know what they say about opinions..
Good Luck :p
