View Full Version : Need Water Reservoir Ideas

I read the article where an underground electrical junction box was used as a water reservoir for a submersible pump. It was claimed in the article that Home Depot carried them.
I went to my local Home Depot (MN) and discovered they don't have one. I even looked through the entire Pro Warehouse catalogue which also did not have the box.

Two questions:

1) Does anyone else have any ideas as to what would make a better reservoir than my $1.50 tupperware container?

2) Does anyone have the Home Depot Part Number for this box?

The main problem I have with Tupperware is that the top is too flimsy and not watertight with all my fittings in place. Also, as Joe has stated, it is difficult to mount in the case.

Thank you!

go back to home depot and look for little containers that are water tight, or even walmart and get a rubbermaid container that isn't so flimbsy

Funny you should ask.. I just bought one of these yesterday..

The scan-code label on the bottom of mine reads: E987N

Under that is the #: 34481-06683

It's a 4x4x4 plastic box.. Comes with a gasket for the lid and all..

It says: 'Carlon' inside the box-lid and the # E987NX (must be the product #)

I found mine in the electrical section, but WAY up on the top shelf.. Not really near the metal boxes either.

You can find these online at a few OC stores too.

Found it!

The Home Depot part is: SKU #499948

You can also order it here (http://www.2coolcomputer.com/products.htm)
but it's about $14 (Home Depots is only $8)

Wow you really came through for me. Thank you for giving me all the numbers. I should be able to get one for sure now.

I asked two different employees at Home Depot, and they gave me an instan "Nope, don't have them"

One thing I have learned about huge stores like Home Depot, ask at LEAST two different people, if not more, you will finally get the answer you were looking for.

Thanks again ptcg and Bubba! You helped alot!
