I just wondered if anyone had a good estimate on the time increase going from a tbird to an 1800+?

I've got a 1.33 (1500) overclocked to 1660 - which is slightly above the core speed of the "1800" My times are high 2 hour to mid three hour.

Are you running that with PC2400 memory?
What motherboard?
I take it that CPU is still locked, running at 166FSB?

That's correct - corsair PC2400 on an Epox 8K7A, 10X166 with ram timings at 8882222.

That's quite excellent! (~2.9-3.5hr seti times)
Do you think the PC2400 vs PC2100 memory makes a difference?

Those are nippy WU's....

My geriatric PIII600 takes about 12 hours/WU......:(

Do you think it is just a matter of spped? My 1800+ is clocked slightly lower than my 1.4, but seems to be averaging slightly better seti times. Go figure?

It may be the "data-prefetch" implementation in the XP's which gives better performance, according to a review at ocprices.

I would really like to see a side by side comparison between identical speed T-Bird and XP, all other parameters the same....

An overclocked XP on a KT266a board should really rock!!!

I'm looking at reviews now to determine the best mobo to get for my 1800+. I'm running it in my 8k7a+, and it has been so good to me I think I'm going to get the 8kha+. Then I will do exactly what you said and post some results for ya. Anyone have any other mobo recomendations?
