Unless you can find a refurbished 68gt you are indeed looking at the 68nu, Newegg has several to choose from now for under $170.

im thinking maybe i should just find a new 754 MB that has PCI-E
x800XL? Not too sure on pricing, but from memory it's not too much more than 6800NU?

Most the 800xl's are running in the $250-$275 range for the Agp versions, The 68nu's are about $100 less.

Probably a BFG 128MB 6800 AGP like I used to have.. it was $299 then, but I'm pretty sure it's less now. Don't get put off by the 128MB though... it's not THAT big of a deal.

I wouldn't recommend it for now. None of the cards today even reach the bandwidth limit of AGP 8x. The only reason you should switch to PCI-E is to get a really high-end and new card (such as the GeForce 7 series or the future ATi X1XXX series)... or if you want to go SLI/Crossfire.

u all forget about the x800GT ($180?) - or is it PCIe only? cause if AGP it can be modded to an x850XT %100 :)

howdy:
i just did a similar search (my cost was for less than $200) to run BF2 better than my 9600XT and came up w/the 6800 from Monarch for $144 after $20 rebate.
i'm benching now and am getting 3DMark03 of 9627 & 3DMark05 of 4040.
Guv's right, the best deal overall is to get the x800GTO for less than $200 & mod it to the 850....but its PCI
