...with 2.0, Overall? I just got home from a week away from my boxes and I've had 2.0 running on 3 boxes for about 4 hours.
So far everything seems to be running pretty smoothly. I'm a little lost w/ all the 2.0 posts so give me a general idea. Problems, thoughts, etc. Are stats accumulating for ya'll?? What's the word my friends.
Everything's fine on my boxes. I'm pushing them as hard as I can trying to stay in the top 10. But I suspect that will all come crashing down this weekend when I decide I need to kill things.

Thinks seem to be going great. Im building my XP box right now, in my watercooled setup, and then Im going to reformat. So tonight I will not be a fully power until about 12:00am. Keep up the great work and fold on brothers.

Overall things are good here. I am using the 2.0 text only console on 3 of 4 machines.
On the other I am running the graphical client as an NT service.
I think because the 2.0 version uses the F@H exe along with the Core_65 exe, you cannot run it as a service. I even tried creating another service for the Core_65 and even set up dependencies between the two, but still no luck.
I was able to get the graphical client to run as a service, but I have to allow it in interact with the desktop, so the icon will still appear in the toolbar when I log in. Kind of a pain, but oh well.
One thing that is a pain is that while experimenting, if the Core_65.exe stays alive after you kill the client, you can't kill it in the task manager. Now that may be a symptom of my service tests, I'm not sure.
Also, check your client.cfg files to be sure you have a user ID in there. If you use the text only version, it does not fetch the user ID the first time you run it (when you enter in your name, team, etc). You have to shut it down after it fetches the core and then restart it. Then it will get the ID and give you credit for your WUs.
Overall, I am not displeased. It could have used more testing, but it's not bad.
Fold On my Fine Folding Friends...;)
I've got the 2.0 text client running multiple clients on all four machines now, and aside from the previously mentioned problem of them not picking up an ID the first time they connect, I haven't had any problems. I fooled around with trying to run the console as a service too, to no avail. I didn't matter to me except as an intellectual excercise. I was more interested in getting the boxes crunching. I too noticed that core_65 sometimes didn't shut down when you close the console, but I didn't have any trouble killing it in task manager. Can anyone tell me how to remove it completely from the list of services? I disabled it but I'm not sure how to remove it since I'm not going to use it. Thanks.

2.1 Stripped down console client is a little sketchy on uploading finished proteins... I usually have 2 or 3 queued for upload at any given time. This is all on my personal TBird box. I've converted one of my Celly boxes to 2.1 console and I'm not sure how it's doing.

I've got the graphical version running on all six cylinders(5 AMD). 1 client per. Working great on all but the laptop. Even working well on that as long as I don't click to show the display. :)

I'm still looking for an explanation for the difference between the score and the number of workunits completed.
Score 9 WU 7
??
Did you do two villins? They count as 2 wu's. Project 100 I think.
Not sure but I think they are larger and take longer to fold which is why they give more credit.

ahhh, that'll be it. I've done two villins so that's where the 2 extra points come from.
hmmmm I'm fixing a box for someone at the moment and a P233 takes forever to fold these things.

I,ve done 3 villens and 2.5 Enghomeodomains. My wu complete is 5, I accidently clicked the area near user name and a white screen with the number 15 comes up. Can someone break that down?
When you click on your name it's supposed to take you to your stats page. It doesn't. It takes everyone to a page that says "15";)
As for your stats. You get 2 for each villin and one for each EngHomeodomain. I think the villins are the only ones that are giving 2 points right now.
I checked your stats and it says you did 5 wu's but it gave you a score of 8, which is the important number, statswise.
3(project100 is villin)x2=6
2(project103 is EngHomeodomain)x1=2
6+2=8 :D Lookin good!

6+2=8 :D Lookin good! What so special about Villen? It is taking me the exact same amount of time to do either one. I do understand your answer to my previous question. Thanks for your response.:)
Honestly? I have no idea. ;) I thought they were moving at about the same pace myself, but it's hard to say what they had in mind.
It could be that they are testing things out on the stats system while it's still young and getting properly hammered.

i have all three machines of mine up and folding. i think they are all 3 on HUGE WU's, becuase the two at my office havent produced results in a day.. (333mhz). mine at home has been chugging along nicely. i will add a 4th computer really really soon. a nice unlocked XP 1800+. it gets here monday. so i will have 4 machines running.
For the points system I believe they take a 400 pentium. And then run the proteins on it. The ones that are done in 24 hours score a one. If it takes 48 hours then it scores a two. This is my understanding of their system. If I am wrong let me know.
