Just wondering if it was possible to capture video directly from the screen and save it. And I'm not looking for animated screenshots, I'm looking for >30 FPS video. Specifically, I want to capture a .avi, etc. of the 3DMark2001 demo. Does anyone know of a way to do this with software?

Thanx

I found this (ftp://ftp.techsmith.com/pub/products/camtasia/camtasia.exe) here (http://www.winappslist.com/multimedia/video_capture.htm) a description: Camtasia captures the action from
the Windows desktop and saves it to a standard AVI movie or streaming video.
New in Version 2.2 is Camtasia Player, a simple, standalone movie player, as
well as a capture recovery tool! Easily create tutorials and help files or broadcast desktop activity over the Internet. Camtasia's unique ScreenPad,
ScreenDraw and Watermark effects add professional looking annotations and
other graphics to your videos. Share your Camtasia screen recordings on a
Web site, distribute them via e-mail, an Intranet or CD. More info-TechSmith
Corporation---I'm still d/ling it so i can't tell you if it's exactly what you need.

yea i think this is what you want. to record the whole screen its record->input->screen(there are a couple options) also the frame rate is pretty bad like 5fps but i'm sure there's a way to fix that.
