Do any of you know of a good music editor I could use? I've been getting bored and want to mix\edit a few songs, just for my own amusement. Anyways, thanks for any info.

Are you talking free, if not then whats the price range. These things get pretty pricey.

I didn't even stop to think I would need to pay to edit my own songs, I'm not really prepared to spend any money {aka broke}. I just wanted to fiddle with a few songs, and if you have ever heard the song "Bad Horsie" by Steve Vai, you will know why I want to chop the last 15 or so seconds of an otherwise cool song.

I googled it, and came up empty, well half-empty I found a few pay programs, so if anyone knows a free program that will allow me to remove or move parts of songs, it would be appreciated.

You can get a working demo of Adobe Audition. I am not sure of the demos limitations but it is professioal sound editing software. It's very easy to use.

A buddy of mine uses Fruityloops (http://www.fruityloops.com/) to edit music, looked pretty neat.

EDIT: NVM It's full featured but you can't save your work.

MTV Music Generator is fun, kinda easy to use if you don't know alot about music. ACID music is probably the best program I've used overall tho. Especially if you have instruments you plan on actually playing.

2nd that. Fairly easy to use. I use it all the time to chop and mix ringtones for my cell phone. Creates quality sounding cuts.

If you have a sound blaster audigy or any sound blaster, there is a cd of drivers and application for installation of the card. In my cd, it includes a program called Wavestudio and there you can at least chop off any part of a song you want. I'm pretty sure it can do a good ammount more but it sounds like you just want to cut audio out of songs and maybe add some stuff. If you want a professtional program, Arial[/B]]Acid is a very good one but it comes with a heafty price tag. But you can always use a program like eMule or similiar to get it other ways. Opps. I'm not suppose to say that. :p
