you've got an extremely hot processor (if it's the older D0 stepping) so with a low-end water setup that's not suprising. with those kits i think the only thing you can really do wrong is have a bad mount or put on too much or too little thermal paste.
welcome to ocforums :)

haha, like the attitude ;)
how much money are you willing to spend? you may like the cpu block but there are much better out there... anyone here giving you suggestions on upgrades is going to want you to sell that kit and piece together your own. another important consideration is how big of a radiator can you fit? and will you mod your case for it?

Few 100usd
What level of ecperience do you have working with computers and cooling? Do you have the tools to mod your case? Also if you are aiming for 4 ghz your ram might hold you back. Not all of those OCZ sticks can make it to those speeds.

you can get a nice wc'ing set-up for fairly cheap if you hunt for parts that people sell....d94 is a good example, he has his dual core running nice and cool on a $80 wc'ing set-up, i originally spent about 100 on mine, then i went to another rad, another pump, and tried a pelt, so i went over 150, but its still nice and cool, and gives me 4.2ghz with ease, just read the wc'ing stickies and search around, youll find a good set-up for cheap.

I would try Swiftech 6002.
Chevette HC and 120mm fan
Inexpensive mag3 eheim 1048, or some DC pump. cools your CPU down to a nice temperature and is probably the same price or less than that kit your looking at.
Otherwise Koolance is ok but not reccomended.

This is what I have and what I recommend.
CPU Block: Storm G4 (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_199&products_id=3349)
Pump: MCP 655 (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_201&products_id=3112)
Radiator: Black Ice Xtreme 2 blk (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_200&products_id=1646)
You'll need 2 or 4 fans I recommend 120x38mm Sanyo Denki fans but I don't know where to buy them. Also instead of a res you might consider a T line

dont go peltier yet, that's a whole new game.
I would go with the stuff that Clocker2 recommended.

I always try to minimize the amount of tubing used. You want the water to move as quickly as possible. 90 degree elbows will hurt you too (looks like your old waterblock has them).
Why the NB block and no GPU block?
Icedfire101
10-24-05, 11:04 AM
don't go with a nb, the really don't help you at all and can even hurt your temps
and also go with 1/2 tubing
and go with the stuff Clocker2 reccomended

How About This Rad.?
The pump you chose should handle it well enough. Now all you need is a good radiator and cpu block.
The BIX requires strong fans, might want to consider a BIP. Get ready for some case cutting though.
People favor either the 6000 or G4 series waterblocks. EIther one will give you noticeable improvements.

i got the danger den cpu block with 1/2 and 3 pipes.
case cutting? i'm mounting the pump on the top with a platic cover, and mounting the rad. on the side with riser screws.
question....
do i want to suck air thru the coils of the rad or push air thru?

I have that same kit and processor and i, but my water block broken and leaked so iv made my own kit costin me £270. the big water realy isnt that good my temps was around 47c. you wont get much better with this kit and with 6.5mm tubes theres no wonder why. Ether more rads or a new kit would help it.
edt: btw the cpu block is good its just fragile!

If you go with a Black Ice Xtreme series radiator to really see them perform you will want 80cfm fans or greater. If noise is a consideration look at their Pro line which does well with sub 80cfm fans.
If you want the best of both worlds and price is not a consideration look into the PA line by Thermochill. Their performance with sub 80cfm fans approaches that of the Xtreme line by BlackIce.
Look into using 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD tubing.
1. Its much cheaper. Look for the Masterkleer at www.mcmaster.com $15 delivered or less will get ya 25'. Thats plenty extra to try different loop layouts or replace as needed over time.
2. Its much more flexible than most 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD tubing. This is nice for bends.
3. It does fit over 1/2" OD fittings. Simply place the end to be fitted in hot water for a few seconds before sliding it over the fitting. If needed a small amount of liquid soap or glycerin can be used as a lubricant.
4. Once in place its a nice tight fit. Although I dont suggest it some people go without clamps. Personally I always use clamps.
Bulkhead Fittings -
Go to www.mcmaster.com and search for Bulkhead Tank Fittings.
They have a pretty nice selection there of what you may need. While your there look up their Masterkleer tubing part #5233K44
