Would someone be so kind as to explain water cooling to me?
how it works, the different parts, or just general information, im completely new to this concept.
I've always wanted something less noisy, and i have been considering a different cooling solution, my SK-6 isnt performing as well as it should, or as i want it to, anyway.
or if theres a detailed newbie article concerning water cooling, link that for me too if you could.
whats the price-range like? for the whole setup i mean.
and are there kits? or do you just buy things seperately?
any comments or recommendations are welcome
thanks for any help :)

Well, lessee here...
For parts, you'll need the following (what I've got is in paranthesis)
1) pump (Eheim 1250 326 GPH)
2) water block, ie the thing that goes directly on top of your CPU (Spir@l (http://dtekcustoms.safeshopper.com/7/31.htm?352) but there's a month wait currently)
3) radiator/bong (I'm getting a bong (http://www.overclockers.com/articles389/))
4) tubing and barbs
5) a mounting kit for the water block
As for cost, the pump was +/- $73 shipped, the block and kit were $53 unshipped, and the bong et al should be less than $25.
So that means around $150 for some really great cooling. I'm not sure if it's worth it, but I'm blessed enough to be able to afford it, and I've bought most of the stuff already.
My bong isn't yet built, but it's just PVC piping and a bucket. Here's my design (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40516) at the end of the thread. There are also a water block basics link in the last post.

That sounds way too cheap for a quality kit. Got a link?

I don't know of any newbie guides, but I founf all of the info I needed by reading the water cooling section of Overclockers.com. There's lots of different component reviews and you can read about the experiences of people so you don't make any mistakes. You'll get a good idea of what works well and what doesn't and how to put the cooling system together.

The site is http:\\www.2coolcomputer.com. And yes it is a very good kit it`s what I use in my rig. I don't think I would put in a weak kit on something I just spent $100 to get the paint to trick it out.
