I've got a duron 750 that won't go any higher than 900MHz
It will either lock on windows startup or will not turn on monitor
and lock on post. I've tried voltages up to 1.85,no luck. I've got
it at 900 right now @ 44 c. Tried fsb overclock also. I've unlocked the chip already but I'm doing all of the o/c settings in bios. Here are my specs:
asus a7v 133 mobo bios ver 1005a
256 mb pc-133
amd duron 750 (unlocked) @1.60v, fsb @100mhz currently 9x100
soundblaster live
geforce 2 32mb agp
samsung ata66 15gb hd
asus dvd 8x
plextor 8/4/32 cd writer
latest via 4-in-1 drivers and geforce drivers

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated to get this thing past 900!

What kind of power supply do you have? (watts and brand) I don't know 900 doesn't seem that bad. Do you recall the stepping?

Welcome to the Forums!

900 MHz is not bad for a 750. There were a couple of batches of Duron 750's that were legendary for being dogs, I'd imagine you've probably got one. I only got 970 MHz out of my 700 anyway,so you're not much behind the average.

i've got the batch number for my duron 750, i checked it on the web and it seems to be a good overclock chip but i can get no more than 900mhz.However when i run mad onions benchmark, the info shows the maximum internal clock speed of my chip can reach 1.17ghz!! I have everything jumpered on the mobo for 9x100, or 1 can go 6.5 x 133 and get 866 mhz, i can't even get post if i go above 900. The current temp under load is: mobo=30 degrees celsius, chip is at 50. Voltage is at 1.70. If anyone's got a suggestion feel free to shoo t away...thx :)

See the above question.

Can you use MBM to note the 5V voltage when it is running stable at 900? Your PSU may be the restricting factor.

50c at 1.7 volt? that's kinna high. I think you should work on your cooling a little bit, get a better heatsink or something. mine is at 1.89 (sandra) and load 42 - 44c.
