what did you do??????
clear the bios and pop the chip in. if it doesnt work and it previously worked then its dead.

sucks too since its an oem chip. no warrenty.

hey ebola, actually i was benchmarking my 1000E @ 1260 but then suddenly the chip fail and i cant put it to work anymore. i've tried clearing the cmos but this is to no avail. so you confirm the chip is dead?? i think i'll have to call enpc.com to exchange another one for me. it's still under warranty. 30days and it's dead on the 2nd day :(

auky,

wait, have u tried to unplug the power cord from your PSU for a minute and plug back on and turn your system back up? If it didn't boot, repeat this step 2- 3 times at different time intervals. Be sure you do this before you call ENPC coz your CPU might nut be dead. I don't know if this applies to your case but if the Vcore voltage isn't sufficiently provided, you can get symptoms like freeze while booting into the windows, freeze during POST, or won't even start. No cold start, no re-start... CPU could be either overheated, stressed too much from OC'ing, or not enough voltage.

i also noticed that there is a black square shape about .5cm thick around the center of the chip...mmmm.....i guess it's burn. luckily it still have warranty.

hmm.. strange.. sorry 2 hear that.. :(
Mine is working wonderfully @ 1350mhz and been playing games all nite and between gaming, i come here to check around. It is awesome, ZERO crash in any games yet! No crash in NFS 4 as it often used to crash in my previous P3 700@ 1071 coz its FSB waz set 2 hi. I also see no stutterness virtually in any part of the game. 8.9sec/152.0 fps @ 1024x768x16 full detail w/ dyanmic lights On in Q3A timedemo1 is very nice. Sorry I don't mean to show off or anything. I just wanted to let others know mine is running smoothly without problems :p

Wish you good luck on getting a good OC'ing chip on the replacement. :)

Seems like the 1ghz @ whichever is an ABIT Be 6series

not shure about this but
if you try rebooting and press insert a couple of times it should "undo" your user define settings... and set it back some what and you'll have to reconfig it.

This sounds like what I saw on the 1.1 I got last week. Had the same "scorch" mark around the core. It was dead. The only other things I tried for verification that you haven't yet is BIOS re-flash (or update) and testing in another board. Sounds like it may be toasted, though. BTW, the 1.1 was OEM also.
