There is a good chance that I'll be going PCI-E in the next month around a Opteron 144 but I need to select a video card.

I was leaning towards the x1600Pro/XT, but after seeing benchmarks, I'm a bit sceptical. The 6800nu seems to perform the same or better than the x1600XT at a lower price.
Also, are there any other options? Is nVidia releasing any new mid-range cards based on the 7xxx series, or is the 6xxx series still the only option in the mid-range?
I don't want to spend any more than $100-150, but I could scale slightly further up, as if I do go PCI-E, I would sell my 9800 Pro.

Considering this however, would it be better to just stay with my 9800 Pro and get a NF3 S939 setup?

Well first of all I wouldn't stay at AGP on s939 as there are no really good motherboards out there.

Second I don't think you are going to be able to buy an x1600xt anytime soon. the PCIe 6800nu's arent bad cards they are based on a different chip right now so they won't unlock to 16p/6v no matter what.

Nvidia is supposedly realeasing a 7800nu pretty soon but we will find out.

The card I would reccomend right now is a refurb x800pro from shop ATI but I don't know if you can get it in Canada.
