Hi guys. I'm going to buy a replacement CPU today and some RAM also.

I'm going to get an AMD 64 754 3200+ and I am stuck on what RAM would best compliemt this CPU.

Being a 754 CPU, am I correct in saying that a single stick of RAM would run quicker than two sticks of RAM?

And finally, could you reccomend some good RAM that would go best with my CPU, please?

My system is...

Windows XP Pro
2x IDE harddrive
2x Optical drive
AMD 64 754 3200+ CPU
RAM ???????????

Thanks in advance guys.

what motherboard are you getting?

Oh my god how did I forget!!!!!! :bang head

I've already got the mobo, infact, I've got everything but the CPU and RAM.

The mobo is an Asus K8V SE Deluxe socket 754.

Cheers.

EDIT: Try not to digress but, are you aware of what organization uses your avatar as their logo?

The Corsair 1GB (1x1GB DIMM) XMS3200XL seems to be the best choice as it has extremly tight timings which is important for AMD 64's.

Any opinions from experianced people here????

Thanks.
