I was planning to add another 1024 mb of OCZ pc4200 or pc4400 (basically the same thing) that I am running right now at FSB 267 (533mhz memory). I am having a hard time finding any of the two still for sale, either a 1024 mb kit of 4200\4400 or seperate 512 mb sticks.

With that I was thinking of going with something else like PQI or Mushkin.
Here are the links
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146384
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820141103
which both can do the same thing as my ocz pc4200 right now. I don't have the platinum edition, they are the regular performance edition. I don't knowi fi the pqi or mushkin run slower or faster though.

I was thinking at selling the ocz pc4200 and buying four sticks of either the pqi or mushkin. What do you guys think, would it be a good idea? Are the PQI or Mushkin memory good and compare to the specs of the OCZ? I see that the pqi and mushkin 512mb sticks aren't that expensive, I am looking around $210 - $250 for 2 gigs. I paid easily $290 for my 1024 mb ocz dual channel pc4200 kit back in the days. I see that if I do find another ocz 1024 ocz dual channel pc4200\4400 kit , I will pay around $170 - $200 for them where I can get 2 gigs of PQI or Mushin.

Any ideas and recommendations please.

how about you sell your ocz right now and then buy a 2x 1gb set from OCZ? they have a PC4000 set which overclocks very well and is awesome ram.

Well not really more expensive, that is two gigs of memory you are seeing. Anyways, what is the highest those can go stable, can they hit FSB 267? Are those the OCZ PC4000 EL Gold - Samsung UCCC mentioned here at these site in one of the sticky posts.

One guy posts "i got this set of ram from a hardforums guy he said it can do 287 on stock timings which is 3-4-4-8

mine autoes at 2.5-4-4-8

and yet at the moment i have them at 2-3-3-6?

what is going on im freaking out that this can happen cuz the reviews say it barely does any better than the stock timings." What timmings can you really get in them with an overclock?

I only need to hit 267 to 275 FSB. Couldn't the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227219 do FSB 267 ? or should I get two of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146392 though they say you can't achieve full overclock with all four banks full and also they mention they hit a wall at above FSB 260 while my board only offers 2.9v max. Or maybe go the cheap way and get four http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820141103 and run single channel and not dual channel mode though these aren't gonna be overclocked at runned at stock speed pc4400 fsb 275.
