Hi,

Will dual channel memory (184 pin) work with single channel memory on a 754 motherboard?

But most importantly will it cause stability problems if i try to overclock it?

Yes it will work fine.

No, because running in dual channel puts more stress on the RAM than in single channel.

i forgot 754 is intel's socket or AMD socket?? LOL

Cemson, I think you got confused with 754(AMD) and LGA 775(Intel)?

AMD Socket 754 = Single Channel
AMD Socket 939 = Dual Channel

And no, you can't get dual channel to work with Socket 754.

Agreed, but just to avoid confusing shadowschild, 184 pin DIMMS are what a 754 mobo needs. Dual channel DIMMS aren't special RAM, they're just matched pairs. And yes, you can stuff them in your mobo and run in single channel mode.

What I'm not so sure of atm is if you can mix RAM module sizes on a 754.

Okay, that's not an issue then. I've never ahd a 754 so I wasn't sure.
