Ok, I've decided on a GF3Ti500 due to the fact that my friend purchased one of the Radeon 8500s and its performance was less than stellar (he sent it back)
Anyway... Is there a real difference between manufacturers of the GeForce 3 Ti500? I was thinking of getting a LeadTek from newegg.com but then I saw that there was a cheaper card from some generic company called PNY, and another from the retail guys at VisionTek. Certainly the difference is negligable (around $10-20) but how about quality/features? I have a LeadTek GeForce2 GTS/Pro which ended up dying after 8 months, so are they really the best like everyone said when they recommended them for the GeForce 2? Let me know...

Bottom line is the performance is pretty much on par to the Ti500. With the next driver release you can bet the Radeon 8500 will be the card to own.

Go Leadtek, the cheaper companies will usually use slower ram on the vid card leading to less overclocking potential, you pay for what you get , don't skimp on 10 or $15..

I would go radeon I love my 64 DDR vivo Radeon

I dunno I kind of have a problem with the whole "275/275" on their page when it actually is 250/250..... I mean sure some margin of error like 274.3/274.3 is fine but what the hell, kind of a drastic drop no? I think that a company should deliver what they promise but that's just me I guess... I might wait a week to see if ATI actually fixes this problem or releases new drivers but at this point I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the Ti500 just because at least nVidia is reliable and doesn't promise what they can't conceivably deliver (can you tell I got ****ed when I saw my friends scores? ;) ) I guess I will go with LeadTek when I order unless someone has something else to say about VisionTek or something, too bad NewEgg is TOTALLY sold out of all GeForce3Ti500s :(

I second that, and I can third it as well. I've own both the R8500, and the Visiontek Ti500, and all I can say is Radeon people I'll match you anytime. I've also bought a standard GF3 from Visiontek for my backup box, and it's still kickin!
