Hello

Its time for me to get a new powersupply and have narrowed it down to these
2 psu to run on my main rig. http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=5379&SID=

Which one do you think. If you have any other suggestions look at http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=cat&memx_menu=164&SID=
and let me know what you think.

Thanks - Fordman

The Powerstream is a better supply than the modstream. You can find it for around 120.00 if you shop around. Also take a look at the Seasonic S12 series and the Fortron AX500.

Hello

My only choice is memory express in edmonton. They have the best service and in house warranty. http://www.memoryexpress.com
Its like newegg from the states.
What is the difference between the 2 powersupplys?

Modstream has removable cabling but doesn't have the independent voltage regulation or the adjustable pots on the rear of the PSU.

The Powerstream is a much stronger PSU, and is built as such.

have a look at the bottom picture, with the modstream on the left and the powerstream on the right. That should tell you which one is the stronger PSU, even with the same wattage rating.

Also, consider NCIX for Fortron PSU's.

If you are going with the PowerStream 520ADJ, that is a great unit!

I have that unit, and OC'ing is no problem. It's very stable, and it delivers what it says. OCZ is a great also. They have a great warranty and stand behind it. You'll have no issues with that unit at all. It's an outstanding unit and value.

Hello

I got my ocz powerstream last nite. my 12 volt rail went from 11.20-11.4 (old psu) to
12.15-12.20 volts. (new psu). Now I think I have to return my aiw 9800 because it is artifacting still but thats another thread.

Another post showing how these high quality PSU's show the difference on the meter.

Sorry to see you are having issues with your video still, but you did the right thing. You were not getting enough voltage before, and now you're stable on the 12v. That's definitely better for your system.
