As the title states, I am thinking about buying the power supply in this link... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=874746&Sku=ULT31556
Im not sure if i should or not, I would like to get peoples opinions first.

I wouldn't. I would rather see you get the Fortron AX450PN from Newegg.

if you really want modular, go OCZ Modstream.

What exactly are you intending to power? Any overclocking? SLI?

Well i have a power supply that came with my case. Its 450 W and has 18 a on the 12 volt side. I am trying to overclock.

what about system spec's?

18A is very low and seeing as how it's labelled as a 450w, I wouldn't use it to power anything recent. Probably more +5v based than +12v based, going by the information given.

It may very well power the system but given that info, I wouldn't want it to power my system, and especially if overclocking hard.

I have an AMD A 3200+ and right now its o/c'd to 2.49 ghz, but it wont go any higher then that.

Well if the Ultra is bad, how about this one?

same manufacturer as Ultra and again, not recommended.

Do you have to order from Tigerdirect?

What about video card? Are you going to be using SLI in the future? how many hard drives?

If I had to order from Tigerdirect, these are the ones I would choose:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1565893&CatId=0

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=674632&CatId=0

Again, I would rather see you get something better though. Is noise an issue?

Can you list your complete system spec's? It will avoid me asking multiple times for individual parts.
