I got the platinum soundblaster mostly because of the remote...but this live drive I have installed and never touched it, What is this used for I know its for sound purposes but can anyone give me suggestions what to use it for?

Ok I had the platinum but ended up having a few troubles with it, so I took it back and got the X-Gamer, basiclly the same thing just no 5 1/4 drive and no remote... When I had it I played with it some. Im not exactly sure what your wanting to know but You can program the remote to play music off of your computer. I cant remember the exact buttons on it and what have you , but Play with them and you will figure out what does what. Basiclly you need to make sure the programs are installed that the remote supports... Then you use the remote to go through and find the music and it will play it through...

There are inputs for mics. I use the opitcal digital out with my minidisc player, and the head phone socket for games, saves having to get tothe back of my machine.

i use the aux in 2 with a turn table for creating backups of my parents vinyl records. Only for personal use!!

Also found the remote works in games like quake for changing the volume, very handy.
