Help with backing up, got a question

I have been trying to figure out how to take my Legit windows XP CD, and use it to burn my own recovery disk. Basically that installs windows XP, and a few programs I desire such as PC Cillin or whatever. Trillian, CPU-Z, 3d Mark, etc. etc. when I insert my CD. I have used Nlite to create a customized windows XP installation

You will need to use a program such as Norton Ghost, or Acronis True Image, to make a true "image" file of the entire disk, or you could make a "slipstreamed" install disk with service packs, patches, and even drivers pre-installed.
This is a link to a tutorial on creating a "slipstreamed install" disk. It's also a good idea to use CD-RW (rewritable) disks so you can edit it as you system config changes... new drivers, etc.
