i bought some generic ram just before the prce drops and got 256MB of pc133 cas3 ram, it is running at 155 cas2 at the moment, i have the memory info writen down so if some one knows could they tell me the latency:

Hyundai 102A

If you're running at CAS2, then the latency of the ram is 2.

wrong word, i ment speed in nano seconds

That might be printed on the chips themselves. If its running @ 155, then its probably around 6ns. Maybe 7ns.

that is why i have put the chip info on the top, i was hoping someone could make sense of it

to find out what it is rated for look on the ram itself....
it should say -75(means 7.5) or -7...
that is what it is rated for....
looks like you got some good RAM though

what is a *ns*

nano second, the speed memory is rated at

@155 MHz it would be 6.4516129 ns

1 MHz = 1,000,000 clock cycles per second
1 second = 1,000,000,000 ns

So if your memory runs @ 140 Mhz, you need to multiply it by 1,000,000 to get total clock cycles per second (140*1,000,000=140,000,000), now you need to divide ns per second by total clock cycles per second to get ns per clock cycle(1,000,000,000/140,000,000=7.1428571 ns).

This doesn't mean that a module with 7ns chips will run stable @ ~140MHz. There are also other timings that will determine the speed of the module (RAS to CAS Delay, RAS precharge time and CAS Latency).

PC133 CL3 = 7.5ns STANDARD

PC133 CL2 = 7ns STANDARD

PC166 CL3 = 6ns STANDARD

PC166 CL2 = 5.5ns STANDARD

so your PC155 running stuff is somewhere in between.

just looked on my major third ram (M-TEC) and saw this
01067
tbs6408b4e-6
does this -6 means 6ns?
thx

yes that (6) means your ram is 6ns ram, it will prolly do 155 at cas2 also.
nice ram guys

Try to push it higher.

I have had my DDR2100 running at 170Mhz which means 340Mhz DDR!

yeh, i will try for more with the +28MHz option in the bios, but i will have to increase the voltage
