I recently installed WIN XP and tried to play a little CS ive OCed my radeon 32mb ddr and usually i got 70 fps with win2k, now i only get 20-25, i have also dled the latest ati XP display drivers
any help would be appreciated
Format and install ME or 2000 Po'. XP runs too much stuff in the background, and I'd say thats why you're games are running choppy.
I turned all the special effects and everything off. So it looks Identicle to Win 98. It sped it up alot in windows. Also here's a link to tell you what to turn off as far as services.

Also You may want to try downloading and installing the latest beta Win2k drivers for your vid card instead of the latest Official drivers. I noticed the latest ones for xp are slow.

What do you mean it did'nt like it too much? They installed fine on my system. I can't really tell you how well they performed as I really did'nt give them a whirl. So if that's what you mean then I guess I would'nt know.

its your video card and drivers .
xp runs nice and stable if you have a manufactuer who knows how to write drivers
nvidia = knows
Ati = doesnt
they may get there act together but we all know about there driver support

Microsoft is correct i was running XP and GF2 Pro 75-FPS in CS, threw in RAdeon 64 VIVO and all sucked, the fdrivers were crap, as the drivers really dont wupport OpenGL, for XP and CS is ran in OpenGL that is why
ATI has ALWAYS sucked at drivers

if you have a program like paintshop that lets you enter the color as a number its #222222. I put my stats like that so it wouldnt take up much as much space as a signature but it didnt help much
