I've got an p3 800mhz (eb) with an ecs p6bap-a+ motherbaord, i can't change the fsb in the bios or use jumpers (with jumers i can set 66 100 of 133) normaly my mobo should go up to 150fsb (or so i've read), i also tried softFSB, only finding that my mobo wasn't in the list, so if anybody knows a solution, because i know it's posible
I'm a little bit confused?
And since you cant change the FSB in bios but you can only change with the jumpers?
What options do you have with the jumper..?!
You shouldn't try SoftFSB its an older program which supports older mobos...

Not Clear, let me try again
My System
P3 800eb (socket 370) at a fsb of 133 nad multiplier 6.0
ecs p6bap-a+ (http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.html?i=1226&p=1 => you can find the specs there)
elsa galdiac 2 mx
384mB Sdram
60GB disk
(i think that's more then enough)
now let me go on
my mobo should go up to 150mhz for the fsb, but i don't seem to be able to set manualy in the bios, there are 2 jumpers with them you can set the fsb in either 66 100 or 133 mhz, and when trying softfsb my mobo isn't in the list, no last night i was think and inspecting my mobo, and the jumper i talk about are bout in the 1-2 stand witch stand for normal = cpu auto select, but if you hange the config of those jumpers you'l have either 66, 100 or 133 forced, What should happen if i just took out these jumpers??

Theres a prog called CPUfsb that does have support for that board. It may help or not, depending on if you can manipulate the core voltage. At default voltage ya might not get too far. But then again ya might :)
There has to be a way to change your fsb.
Go from the beggining....and check every option again.
Read your manual very good.
Make sure that you cant adjust the fsb through the bios
Then check your mobo jumpers....they almost always have
a small diagramm that shows you the settings of the fsb
combinations.
For example if you set your jumpers manually for 133 fsb
then you might have inside bios the option of going up
to 140,150.
Or...there may be a combination of jumper setting tha will
give instantly the 140,150 fsb from the start.
Do your search and let me know.

He probably doesn't have fsb options with that board. ECS is notorious for a lack of oc features, but tend to be VERY stable. The only way to manipulate fsb with this mobo is via soft oc'ing.

actualy i wanna know if i remove the jumpers that control the fsb, what would happen then, because both of them are in the 1-2 position that set auto mode, and for the other positions you force 66 100 or 133, so what would happen if I just remove those
and the manualy, you have to models for this mobo, and the manuly (as does the developerssite and the online manuly) only speak of the originel model, not over the revelution i have

Well i we see, but on the site i gave earlier it clearly states that they set it in the bios
Have a copy of your bios settings.
Then.....experiment safely.
See what you can get.

Well cpuFSB does the trick, but but but...
et me explain, but first give you some more details
384MB Sdram
p3 800mhz eb
ecs mobo
(you al ready know that)
temp on 800mhz
round 35 up to 39°C (if it's not to hot and not doing to much, like burning cdees), my fan speed between 3850 and 4000 rpm
now i set the fsb to 140 first, ran stable, non temperature increase (think i'm gonna get another program) , set it to 150 then, stable, no temp increase, but i noticed that i only hat 256 of ram, and just a few secondes later my pc crashed, restart, at 140fsb, bout a minute and crash, restart 140, crash, and well now i'm posting, i think it's my ram, but what you guys think
LutaWicasa

Could be ram, but you may need to up the core voltage a tad to give some stability and do a little bit more cooling. I went over to ECSUSA and D/L'ed the man for yer board. Do you have the bios options I see listed here? Able to alter fsb in cpu set-up ? As I read this, you should be able to set jumpers to auto and make manual changes in bios. You even appear to be able to adjust the core voltage.

well the jumpers are there (those are the once i'm talking bout the whole time jp4 and jp9 if i'm not mistaken) nad in the bios i 'can' set it to manual yes, but i can't change the fsb, it says 133 but when hitting + or - it has no effect, i can onlye change the multiplier, but since this is a p3 the only wya ot overclock is the fsb
Diablo668
10-21-01, 06:26 AM
ow yeah bout the core voltage, the monitor says it's 1.71V maybe good to know
LutaWicasa
10-21-01, 06:30 AM
So, right now the jumpers are both on pins 1 & 2 ?
Diablo668
10-21-01, 06:37 AM
yes the jumpers are on 1&2 both of them, and i just checked for the core voltage, but i can't change that under the bios
LutaWicasa
10-21-01, 06:40 AM
For sh**s and grins why not set'em at 2 & 3 and see if ya can change fsb ?

Cricket,
I understand what you mean.. cauze I can't understand what Diablo668 is saying neither. .. and I am extremely confused. If someone needs help, at least post the message with descent English grammar and spelling. The only words I can understand coming from Diablo668's mouth is ... such as "jumpers", "bios", "mobo", etc.. Other than that, I can't understand what he is trying to say. Need to work on his/her grammar. His transition in explaining his scenario and problem is all messed up. I know I am not an American but I am not that bad.. at least my grammar and especially the spelling is what I am good at. Too bad.. I can't help Diablo668 at all except I wanted to point out his poor grammar and spelling.

if i set them both to 2-3 it's 66 jp9 to 2-3 the other to 1-2 it's 133 and vica versa it's 100

According to the man I got , it says that this jumper configuration will force a 66 fsb proc to run on 133 fsb.

well sorry, but you don't have to rub it in my face

Heres what my manual says:
,° When both JP4 and JP9 have the 2-3 pins shorted, the
board is set to force a 66 MHz FSB processor to run on a 133
MHz system bus.
Diablo668
10-21-01, 06:54 AM
yes, and both on 1-2 it's auto select, and jp9 on 2-3 and jp4 on 1-2 its 133, jp4 on 2-3 and jp9 on 1-2 its 100 (all fsb in mhz ofcourse)
LutaWicasa
10-21-01, 06:58 AM
Nope. Re-read what this says:
,° When both JP4 and JP9 have the 2-3 pins shorted, the
board is set to force a 66 MHz FSB processor to run on a 133

ow yeah see it now too, sorry
LutaWicasa
10-21-01, 07:02 AM
Give it a try and see if it makes a diff.
Diablo668
10-21-01, 07:05 AM
i don't think it makes a a difference, the eb is an 133mhz cpu
LutaWicasa
10-21-01, 07:07 AM
True, but it may then allow the options in bios. Worth a try, right??
pfft.. anything is worth a try espically for overclocking!!!1
Diablo668
10-21-01, 07:22 AM
well i'l try it, but not today, i'll be leaving shortly, so greetz, let those idea's come

So, so true. That's how I started overclocking. Kinda got curious.....what would happen if????? :D
hehehehhe exactly... overclocking is in your blood once you've done it :)

More addictive than crack. Not any cheaper, and I'm not sure about the health issues :)

Just a thought.
You say that CPUfsb let you get to 140 or 150, but you
got some lockups.
Can you change any of the memory timings with that BIOS ?
If so, you may want to go to CAS3 settings. Might make
it more stable at the higher fsb speeds.

euh, in plain english???
