Hey guys I got my self a new Radeon X800 XT and the first time I put it in it booted fine, i installed the drivers shut the coputer down came home from work tried to boot and it would get past the RAM check, just before it would try to boot windows then the computer would reboot. I tried to reseat the card with no luck. I plugged it into another computer and it worked just fine.

So does this sound like I am stressing my PSU to the point it has to reboot? My guess is yes because it happens just before windows boots when the Processor activity and HDD are high. My current system looks like:

Antec 300w PSU
P4. 2.8E @ 3.2
PDP PC3200 @ 230.5 / 461 MHZ
ATi X800 XT
120gig Maxtor ATA HDD
2x120mm Delta fans @ ~86.5 CFM
No, CPU cooling because I water cool, and the pump is AC

So what do you guys think? Also if this is the problem what would be a good PSU to get mild OC'ing Processor only. I was looking at the Forton Blue Storm 500w for 71.00, what else is there around 450-500 watts that would be a tad chaper?

Thanks

That might be psu problem or not. You said that you got new card did you unistall old GFX driver prior to installation of new GFX. Though it might be time to upgrade psu

The blue storm is good choice probably the best for the amount of money. You may find something cheaper but it might be not as good as forton one

Alright, well I had a old set of Omega's so I downloaded the newest versions and installed them I though I remember him saying the remove the old ones automatically. Ill probably try uninstalling all drivers and see what happens.

Ah, nope I doubt it or I would have been having problems ever snice last year June when I installed my watercooling.

It sounds like a power issue to me, however I got to wait a week before I can get a new PSU. Probably tomarrow I will try removing the drivers then install the card and see what happens.

So are you going to even try it? Someone over in another thread here just had the same problem and it fixed it.

Ok, is the $71.00 on ewiz the cheapest around? Ill probably buy it in the next few days depending on when I get this PHP job done.

Oh I didn't see the 300W psu. Yeah I had the same troubles when I moved to an X800 XTPE. It loves power.

X800 XTPE. It loves power. :p

What brand of XTPE did you get? I got a sapphire and they sent me the X800 XT just wondering what your white indentifcation label said on your XTPE If you remembered.

GeCube. I just went PCI-e though so don't have it anymore.

It's PSU. I already had problems with a Fortron 350W when I moved from a Ti4200 to a 9800PRO...

Yep, I got a 500W Bluestorm from D94 so that should set me straight.
