I've been having a lot of problems with my computer rebooting and bsod'ing at random times, while i'm gaming or even if i'm doing nothing. The only way i can fix this is to run the ram at a 166 divider. I thought my ram was bad so i bought some new ram that i've tested in my friends rig upto 263mhz, but the problem still didn't go away. I thought it might be the processor, but i tried my friends venice and i still had the problem. So is this a motherboard problem? I thought that having the mem controller on the cpu would make memory related problems come from a malfunctioning controller, but i'm not really sure. Thanks for any help.

There could be other factors effecting the ram speed. It could be that your friends board gave the ram more voltage. Even if the settings were the same that does not guarantee that the board is delivering what you are specifying. Also, NF3 systems are known to be particularly finicky about ram and ram timings. It could well be related to the chipset, which is of course your mobo as you have suspected.
