windows xp pro repeats same installation steps

I just got my computer assembled, and after having a few problems getting it to post I finally got it to start up windows installation. It formats the drive, then unpacks the installation files. It then says it needs to restart to continue installation and when it restarts it just does the same thing again, formatting, unpacking, and restarting.

Anyone know why?

(no experience with XP Pro, only home edition in case that matters)

Are you hitting a key when it says hit any key to boot to cd, after it restarts? If so, dont! If not, simply eject the cd when it restarts, so it will finish the install. When it gets to installing, reinsert the cd.
