i haf recently just bought the volcano 6 Cu+ and had mine 1.2Ghz up to 1.491 (142*10.5) but it will freeze every... i dunno 1 hours perhapz, but the temp is round 47, 48C. does anyone know y this is happening?

Not the temp, if that is an accurate temp. I have noticed that with FSB overclocking, my Athlon will crash, not right away, but after awhile, for seemingly no reason.

BTW, I have learned to just leave my FSB alone. I am at 133! I only can get away with the multiplier.
The reason that you are experiencing freezeing is because when you increase your fsb you are also increasing the speed of your memory. Try upping your VIO1 (memory voltage) to 2.8 or even to 2.9 and see what happens. It should be more stable.

but i dun haf any cooling on my ram though, will heat been a issue if i +0.1 V?

I have heard that memory might me my prob.
I have micron, but that is no guarantee. Crucial memory seems to give better results, but I have generic Micron...
Has anyone had better O/C with Crucial?
Thanks

Well, the Micron memory is Crucial's castoffs. So it depends. I was running some Micron PC133cas3 at 150 cas2 (with a bunch of other 2s) just fine, and my Crucial PC2100 does quite well at 150 and 155...
I would not, however, suggest taking your RAM voltage much over 2.7, as I have managed to kill a stick doing that. *With cooling.*
Oh, and a good way to test if your memory is running to fast is to use Prime95. If it starts giving you roundoff errors, I'd say that's the problem. Well, if you test it with a low mult. (I like to get the FSB as high as possible, to I set the mult low and get that up, then I raise the mult. :))

The weird thing about my rig right now is that the FSB won't go much of anywhere. Anything above 135 crashes.
Could be the memory, could be this lousy ARGA stepping.

Not gonna be the CPU...unless it's already maxed out. The FSB isn't going to affect how your CPU runs. It *will* affect how your system runs, but not the CPU. (Aside from making it go faster, that is. :))

Do you know someone with some really good memory that you could slave in. Also if you have a local puter store that sells good memory you might pick up some to try and if it doesn't fix the prob then take it back before the time expires. I've tried that with auto parts. Never tried it with computer parts but it's a thought.
