Analog-X (http://www.analog-x.com) makes one and is completely free. Might be pretty good if you haven't tried it already.

You can set Adsubtract to use a proxy but does not by default. I did notice that it does slow down the loading of web pages a little, but it does block a lot of rubbish out. :p

Have been running it for two days and haven't had a pop-up but you are correct it does slow things down quite a bit.

Why not get Mozilla's FireBird (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/) for Windows browser. It has pop-up blocking built into it and it works really well. If anything it runs faster than I.E. Plus it has tabbed browsing and other nice features. I use it for both Windows XP and Linux and I prefer it to Internet Explorere.

You can have both Firebird and I.E. on your computer. In fact, you can run them simultaneously. I would suggest that when Firebird asks if you want to make Firebird the "default" browser, say no and leave I.E. as the default browser.

Go HERE (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/release-notes.html)
to read the release notes and download the ZIP file. For Windows, unzip Mozilla Firebird in C:\Program Files\MozillaFirebird, then download this registry file (http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/resources/firebird.reg) (click on "File" then "Save Page As") to the desktop. You should see "Firebird.reg" on the desktop, double click on Firebird.reg to apply it. When it asks if you want to add this information to the registry, say yes.

Now go to macromedia.com and install flash and shockwave. Then on to sun.com and download j2re-1_4_2_02-windows-i586-p.exe and install JAVA.

Make an icon for your desktop. Enjoy Firebird

Google Toolbar 2.0 has the pop-up blocker built in - totally free too.

I love it!

Damn the person who makes those Java/SWF banner ads that are taking up fullscreens now

Agnitum Outpost firewall has a ad-filter and a content filter. The firewall part is great too. Free version is available...
