Ok i overclocked my 1ghz to 1.2 last night and i ran 3dmark on it and stuff like quake to see if its stable and it works fine. But sometimes when i cold boot it wont boot and i have to unplug the power from the motherboard and reset the cmos to get it to boot. But as soon as its going it will work right. Should i try increasing the voltage
the temp stays and like 98 degrees fareinhiegt under 40c all the time and it idles at 35 c and like 95 degrees so my cak 38 with artic silver is doing its job.
Any suggestions?

i think it is the mobo...
i had the Abit KT7A before and it wouldn't boot whenever i o/c... always had to unplug the power and plug in after 10secs...

what did you have to unplug the power going into the board or what
and did you get a new mobo or what

I had the same problem before. The culprit was the pencil trick on my CPU. Did you unlock the L1s with a pencil? If you did, try using conductive paint or a comductive ink pen. That was what solved it for me. The ABIT mobos seem to want a strong signal thru the L1 bridges.

i had the same, caused by the psu. is your psu under 250watt? if so try a new one, i would reccomen a 400watt, i was lucky and got mine for £35.

hey can you read???
did you see in my first post that i HAVE A 500WATT POWMAX PSU. SO ITS NOT THAT I THINK IT IS THE PENCIL TRICK!!
-PC_MaN83
THEN RE-DO THE PENCIL TRICK AND EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT!!!
Seriously, First of all, Welcome to the forums!
You'll see that we prefer to help others without resorting to sarcasm, screaming, bashing etc. Every reply to your question took time and thought by whoever responded. These people were trying to help you with a problem that they have either experienced or had heard about. Every one of the replies could very well cause the problem that you're experiencing. Maybe you should consider this when responding to a reply that was meant to be of help.
By the way I'm leaning toward either the "pencil trick" or the motherboard.
Good Luck!

mine sometimes won't boot after a warm restart when its clocked at 1.51. I've been told its because I'm low on power. I'm only running a 250W psu. I think I might upgrade my psu and see if I can take this chip to 1.6..........but since u have a 500W psu I'm doubting its that.....might wanna redo your pencils

-PC_MaN83 HAVE YOU CHECKED THE L1 BRIDGES YET?! :D :D :D :D :D
Maybe it's the PS seeing that you only have a 250w one.
Just kiddin ,I can read a little.
