just a quick question...
i know that the MP is better for multi-processor systems, and that it comes unlocked out of the factory...
are these 2 things the only differences from the XP? i mean, since they both use the palomino core, it looks as though it SHOULD be the same otherwise...
also... has anyone put XPs in a multi processor machine?

seoultrain--

I was wondering if there was ANY difference at all in the XP's and the MP's (except for the L1 bridges). Check this thread...

well, from what i understand, the MP's dont use the organic packaging... so they are a little hotter. and i also understand that the MP's dont have some of the new features/optomizations that the XP's have. so i think they MP's are more pricey, unlocked, and dual capable. however, the XP's are cheaper, and faster.

i may be wrong.

Well, the NEW MP's look exactly like the XP's except they aren't laser burned (and supposedly, UNLOCKED as well). They have exactly the same packaging AND the same number scheme (1500 - 1800). I wonder if they really aren't just the same chip...
