Hi Everyone. I have an Abit BE6 mobo with the latest BIOS. In the Soft Menu I can go up to 150mhz bus speed. Right now I am using 450mhz@100mhz bus speed. I havn't been able to go higher. Any suggestions?

I think you mite have reached the limit..

Thats a good oc for that chip...

Most 300A Celerons seem to cruise right to 450mhz, but won't go much beyond that without very good cooling. With a heatsink\fan combo, my 300A tops out at 450- but with water cooling, it goes to 517mhz- but only as long as the core is 25C or less. If the core temp goes over 25C, at any speed other than 450 it crashes.

300As like it cold!!:D

I've had 2 300a's that ran 504 MHz aircooled. Both would post at 525 but wouldn't load windows. With water and pelts prolly could've got my 100% oc :D

I had a great 300A, it went to 521 no problem. Would post at 600 but windows protection error followed. I was only using a Volcano too.

Oh, and by the by.......welcome to OC.com :D

We'd be able to make a few more constructive suggestions if ya could give us a bit more detail. What are ya using for cooling, what ram etc. ya got, what core voltage ya running................
C'mon, let's crank that lil' Cellie up!!!

First thing is that I do not have a 300A, it's just a 300. Using the stock intel heatsink+fan, keeps it pretty cool. Also I have a Voodoo 3 PCI, not overclocked. Some brand of SDRAM, 1x64mb. I would like to at least get 500mhz out of it. :) There are a lot of options for FSB in the BIOS though, up to 150mhz now that I flashed the latest version of the BIOS.

Okay, different ballgame. No matter how far you manage to oc that chip, it won't help much. That's the cacheless Cellie, without the L2 cache the performance is basically pretty bad. I haven't seen one hit 500 MHz(pretty close, but not quite). You could first check the ram. A good quality pc 100 will be quite sufficient for the oc you'll be able to do. Bump up the core voltage a little and give'er another shot, just keep an eye on your temp.
Actually, thats about all I could suggest. You've got a good old BX board there, but you'll never push that particular Cellie much past where she is now.

Yeah the ram is PC100 so maybe...

Got 466 and 504mhz! 466 works fine but 504 get's past post and when windows starts loading a half or a third of the screen is cut off and it freezes. Must be the video card. At least I can use 466 without any problems.
