Each time I try to install my own copy of regional Windows Millennium in DOS the moment I type “setup” and press ENTER key the computer always reset by itself!
I don’t know what to do about it!
The only way to bypass it was when a friend brings to me his own English copy of WMe. Then the setup operation performs smooth.
But under this version of Me O/S, each time I try to install a newer version of Via chipset drivers for the motherboard -besides the ones that is on the CD, like 1432 or 1433 the system always hung-up, freezes, crash or reboot.
I think is somehow related to the first symptom and both caused from the motherboard.
The official response from an ASUS technical employer was “try to install the O/S but first remove any unnecessary devices”.
The only unnecessary device was the sound card and I had removed it then I have redone the process from the beginning. But the results were the same.
Also I have another question, I don’t know if it is a problem, I have a second backup HDD drive and while I have disable it through the BIOS why Windows still recognize it and I can access it normally?
