Has anyone tried this before?
I just discovered a great noise reductions solution for this. As a matter fact, it might even work for other noisy fans. Using a carbon pre-filter (the black stuff used for air filters), I've cut out a circle and taped it on top of the Dragon Orb3, covering the top part. Guess, what?!? It makes a great difference. It totally dampened the high pitched whirling noise. It no longer makes that annoying sound!
It now sounds great, just like wind blowing (tolerable) through the case and temp may be the same or 1 degree higher. 38.5C ain't bad. My high is around 50C. Has anyone else tried using a carbon pre-filter? This may be a first. You've heard it here first!!!
I can love my computer again!
