what is DDR 333 ?

333 is 166 doubled sooo...... PC2700
266 is 133 doubled sooo..... PC2400
200 is 100 doubled sooo..... PC2100
so on and so on and so on :)

so itz like the DDR version of tonicom 166fsb ram yea

can anybody post a link to where i can learn more about these ?
 
it will be the new standard for DDR ram soon....
same as normal DDR but it has been rated to run at 166FSB,
nothing more special about it that any other DDR...
so if you wana do some web reading, just look up DDR

Small mistake here:cool:

333 = 166 X 2= PC2700
300 = 150 X 2= PC2400
266 = 133 X 2= PC2100
200 = 100 X 2= PC1600

You will need a MoBo that has a 1/6 divider for 333 & 1/5 for 300 to have your PCI & AGP run within spec. Sometimes they will but it's never certain.

PC1600 (100 MHz Operating Speed) x (2x Rising & Falling) x (64-bit Bus) / (8 bits per byte) = 1600 MB/s available bandwidth.

PC2100 (133 MHz Operating Speed) x (2x Rising & Falling) x (64-bit Bus) / (8 bits per byte) = 2128 MB/s available bandwidth.

PC2400 (150 MHz Operating Speed) x (2x Rising & Falling) x (64-bit Bus) / (8 bits per byte) = 2400 MB/s available bandwidth.

PC2700 (166 MHz Operating Speed) x (2x Rising & Falling) x (64-bit Bus) / (8 bits per byte) = 2656 MB/s available bandwidth.

so far unseenmenace has explained it the best,
i was sitting there reading, hmmm how do they get from

333=166 x 2 to it equaling pc2700

then enseenmenace explained it and i was like wow i now understand.
 
How much of a better Sandra memory score, approx., would you get, comparing Pc2100 vs Pc2700 with no overclocking done?

Last anything I've been able to find out is 1/5 : fer shur 1/6 : a very strong probability. You can expect all the big boys to be utilizing the 1/6 with the emminent release of the Iwill XP333. Just a shame they hadda go with the Ali chipset. :(
 
GREAT!!!!!!!! I'm taking delivery of it in a few days but don't have the DDR yet. They are taking forever to deliver my PC150 for my current MoBo:(

the PC2700 will require the user to run a higher FSB to maximise the performance available with the memory, however this does not mean that your system will be able to run at the high FSB required as your cards and other hardware may hold you back

You never actually got it wrong, however you did over simplify the calculations, and it was the sarcastic british sence of humour that was just pointing out that in the same manner as you did to 'LutaWicasa' who did not actually get the math 'wrong' but over simplified it

Perhaps my humor is abstract, however no offence or insult was meant by it

He did actually make a small mistake but we are all here to help or confuse each other:D Your humor is well understood, been seeing a lot of Jeremy Clarkson:D :D
