View Full Version : How accurate is AsusProbe after droop mod?
Hey guys, I did the droop mod a while back but I am curious to hear how accurate asus prob or other monitoring progs are after the mod.
I ask because to because i have to set the vcore really low in the bios(1.42 or around there) to get the vcore to 1.5v.
I don't have a multimeter and don't really want to buy one unless someone tells me they have seen a worthwile difference in the asus probe readings and actual.
Thanks a lot

well.. the only way to really tell is to MM it, since you have modified the way the circuit works, cant be too completely sure. i say the $10 to 20 is a great investment, and can be tons of help. maybe you know someone nearby that can loan ya one? if so, just give it a checkin :-)

ASUS Probe, and all other monitering software is next to useless if you want an accurate idea of your voltages.
These monitering programs are prone to software manipulation, and are not trustworthy :-/.
A Multimeter will cost you about $15 or so, and is well worth the investment - it's a consistantly accurate means of checking any voltage in your machine.
Thanks guys. am going to get a mm. I have searched all over for where to measure the vcore from, could you guys tell me

Yeah, i've been wondering where to check VCore from too. Do the coils work? Could i just solder a wire to any of the coils and run it to my MM? Or one of the MOSFETs?

the inductor couls should be a good place to puck up a measurement from. try there and see if you get a reading.
