Nice desktop backgrounds?

I did a search both here and on google images for websites with decent desktop backgrounds to choose from, and found almost none. =/
Do you have any sites or images in particular that make for good backgrounds?

Yeah... I have one that's just perfect. Nothing can be better than it. But I made it myself, so it might not suit your taste... it has a swirly thing in the back and a Penguin and a Chick staring at it. So, my answer to you is, make your own background. You will enjoy it more.

Since you have an Athlon 64, http://tinypic.com/er0guw.jpg . I found that somewhere on the internet a few months ago. I think that "Ms. Athlon 64" is really nice and she represents the Athlon 64 CPU very well.

http://www.digitalblasphmemy.com/ has lots of eye popping 3D rendering and you can also check out the users gallery. Right now it seems down since I can't get to it.

Agree, use them, love the way the creator combines effects to create images.

yes and no, someone is taking their time in something they liekly do for a living, and it costs money to host a site, as well as their time.

for good good wallpapers i will pay to get a nice hi res image - i have been with digitalblasphemy for a long time and now plasma and they keep me happy with good quality desktop pics.

I understand where you and they are coming from, but with so many websites out there offering free wallpapers IMO even better than the website you linked. For example Deviantart...for me it doesn't make sense to pay for it.
