wouldnt it be nice to know what effects on actual performance the ram timings, speed, bandwidth, and ratios had?

it would be nice to have the numbers presented in a way that you could easily decide what ram would be the best for your system at the right price.

so i decided to start this thread in hopes of both finding the numbers by which we can do the math to find the best solution for ourselves. as well as programs and methods to test our answers.

so ive started searching the web for answers. ill be updating my post with links as i go along. as well as any findings.

this one sheds a tiny bit more light on the relationship between timings and memory speed than any other site ive seen yet

SITES EXPLAINING BASICS

i found this site that talks about normal DDR and timings explanations.

or toms site here. for DDR as well

brb im goig to eat all this thinking is makin me hungry

awesome. so its just like i thought. low latencies give a hardly justifiable improvement considering the huge price differance. as before, spend all your money on your cpu videocard and motherboard. then spend what you have left on the rest
