Can anyone tell me what the fastest multi-threaded software is for encoding a raw avi file (from a DV camera) to mpeg-2 DVD? I have read that Adobe Premiere takes advantage of dual processors but have seen conflicting results in terms of its performance. Also, most of the benchmarks I've seen for other programs focus on another scenario, such as Divx encoding, which is not what I want to do here.

TMPEGenc supports up to 2CPUs and is as fast as they get. Requires a liscence for mpeg-2 encoding tho.

I downloaded the Nero 6 Reloaded demo with Nerovision, but it didn't let me try out the dvd encoding unfortunately because you have to buy that codec separately
