i have the new gateway 21inch hd monitor

first time i hooked it up HD feed filled the whole screen, but it had dead pixels so i returned it got another, but on this monitor HD feeds have black borders top and bottom and also on the sides.... there is a video scaling option if i make it panaramic or wide it takes the side bars away, zoom .. quality deteriorates, and 1:1 with the borders.. anyone got any ideas?

i tried turning off hd cable box and resetting it and nothing, reset monitor nothing :( :bang head

There are no settings available on the monitor itself to scale? :T

the fact that the other monitor did what you want it too, should give you the answer. dig around in the options, sometimes we overlook things that are sitting right under our nose. I don't have the same monitor, but did have the same issue.

Letterbox, windowframe possibly, but probably your cable box if you picture is not the right size, since most new monitors auto resize.
