radiation from scanners?

Is there much harm done to yourself because i had to scan a dictionary page but the scanner lid didn't close so i was sort of exposed. Uh actually, does a scanner EVEN emit radiation at all or just very little? Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Of course they emit radiation. The radiation scanners emit is known as light

You are fine, if it had anything dangerous there would be a big red sticker on it somewhere with crossbones on it.

It's fairly bright, so try not to look directly at it.
