In the Fire Wall thread, I heard someone mention NetBus?
What is it?
How does it work?
NetBus is a trojan virus. Someone sends you a file, you double click on it, it either doesn't do anything or gives you some kind of a dll error or anything of that type.
Then whenever you're doing something if your CDROM magically opens, or your screen turns off for no reason, that means some one has hacked into your computer. That file that you opened was a patch, sort of a gate for a hacker to hack into you.
NetBus allows the hacker to do things such as file download/browsing, disabling your keyboard or mouse, doing all sorts of stuff with your monitor, and erase your windows folder.
Norton Antivurus should be able to detect it and get rid of it.
