Why is AMD cutting bridges??? It seems to cost them more time and money to make an inferrior product compared to if they wern't to cutting them. What the hell were/are they thinking when they reasoned this out?
least you can re-connect the bridges w/ an AMD processor, as opposed to an Intel processor.

In my very limited understanding, I think that this may be the only way to hardwire the rated and tested speed on the processor. I don't know if it's possible to do it internally in the cpu itself. Maybe the experts can chime in with a more technically correct explanation.
p.s. Astro (my dog) doesn't like to stick his head out of the car window.

ssssshhhhh i didnt tell you this,
amd is doin this temporarily, so peeps dont burn em up when they first come out and give em a bad name,
you know?
like when the tbirds came out and no one payed attention to the warnings about usin the right heatsink?
and they were etternally damned to the position as a replacement oven burner....
when they are more abundant and have been out long enough to get good reveiws they wont cut em anymore

Maybe you have bad breath. They stick their heads out of cars to get some FRESH air!
I've heard that some UN-pitted XP's already exist.

Aha, I think that reinforces my decision to wait and buy in a couple months :D

My dog likes it when I blow in her face. As far as AMD goes, I don't understand corporate decision making, that's why I work in support.

I had to have mine, and no it's not unlocked, but it will be. I couldn't wait. It's an addiction for me. If you can wait, then more power to ya, seriously. I don't know if they will be unlocked, but I hope so, because I'm sure I'll have a 1900+ as well ;)
