View Full Version : FINALLY got 1.4 GHz

After a new HSF and PSU, I finally attained 1.4 GHz out of my 1 GHz/266 AXIA-Y chip.... previously would experience hard locking after 1-2 mins of Windows.

The strange thing is - it'll do 1.4 at 140x10 but not 133x10.5. Oh well, 140 MHz FSB is probably better performance anyhow.

Goin' for 1450 next!

Congratulations! (much envy). How much hotter does it get? What voltage do you have it set at?

Actually that's the only way my old 1ghz 200fsb AXIA 'Y' would do 1.4 on my kt7a was 140*10. 133*10.5 just wasn't stable. I had unlocked it using a defog kit.

Now that I've redid my northbridge cooling (AS2, bigger HSF) the board runs 145 on turbo mem settings and Cas2 no prob.

Well, I've run some Sandra benches on the old version - I need to upgrade. Maybe later this afternoon I'll get around to posting some screenshots.

Motherboard is a voltmodded KT7A-Raid. Yesterday night under Folding, temps reached 49 C with a 22 C room temp. Thermaright SK6/YS Tech 40 CFM, and a Sunon 80 MM ducted to hsf. It needed 1.95v to do 1.4.

What really dumbfounds me is that it won't do 133x10.5.... but yet it will do 140x10. Weirdness.

On a side note... Trance, I'm suprised you're cognizant after the big OC.com BC shindig last weekend... :)

Did it come already unlocked or did you connect the L1s? If you connected them, how did you do it?

I bet it's something with the kt7a's

L1's are penciled using a #2 Bic .5mm pencil.... and I haven't had trouble getting any other multiplier. And the 10.5 multiplier works at 100x10.5 anyway, so I know that's not the problem.

SickBoy Hmm... funny seems to happen to a few KT7A - RAID owners, not me though. I can get 1.95V w/o the voltmod as my MoBo adds a +.1. Have you had any luck with 10 X 143? I need 1.95V for that kind of speed. I also noticed the northbridge temps go up about 3°C when I have a 10 multiplier, and up, with 140FSB+.

Hmm... now I'm getting some random lockups... WinXP is saying it's not liking my Geforce2MX/MX400 driver, I updated to DetXP 21.83. We'll see how this pans out.

Oh yeah, and that reminds me. I haven't taken the time to ASII my CPU/HSF now that I finally have a little syringe of some. I oughta do that sometime, huh? :) Up until now I've been using standard white paste.
