How would one go about making a directory or file eaither a) Password protected or b) hidden from anyone but myself?

a) on a ftp servre, the admin can see everything the users do, including all directories
b) smartftp can't, this is a ftp server job, ie a ftp config issue

Basically you questions have nothing to do with your smartftp client, but everything with the ftp server that's used
