Which one of these are better at cooling cpus? I'm not going all out crazy when I overclock, I'm just doing a Celeron 600 O/C 1ghz. I have a vantec 6024d HSF but can get a good deal on a peliter.

the peilter will need to have something powerful to cool the cpu, a very good heatsink or watercooling, the best idea is to get watercooling then add a peltier

Basic rule in Thermodynamics, If something is made to be cold, the heat has to go somewhere. A Peltier will cool you down more but you still need something to dissapate the heat produced by the processor and the cooling effect of the peltier. So while a 172 Watt Pelt could possibly cool an Athlon 1Gig to subzero temps, you'd have to get rid of the 172Watts that the pelt is making in addition to the 80 or so watts that the processor is making (I don't remember the exact figure for an Athlon 1Gig). That means you need something that can dissapate 250+ Watts of thermal energy, which right now, the only thing able to do that on a peltier is Water Cooling.
