ok i finaly figured out all the settings for overclocking my K6/2400. of course right away I pushed it up to 5.5*100 but my moniter wouldn't turn on it was like the moniter was turned on but the computer wasn't the light on it was yellow.
Anyway around this? should i push the voltage up a bit? currently i'm at 2.2V and i tried it at 2.4, Does it need to go higher? im scared to push it up higher with out the experience of someone who know what the hell they are doing...

just because your comp "sounded" like it was on doesn't mean its on. The fansf were prolly on but everything else wasn't. The reason why it was yellow was because your video couldn't handle the fsb or the cpu failed to boot. MAybe it just won't run at that speed. I am not going to give any advice on the voltage adjustment cuz I've never owned a k62/3. Try clearing cmos and lower the fsb and start going up slow
oh and another note.......k62 are notoriously known for not o/c worth anything like 50mhz max..........just to let u know so try settings between default and that just to start

Whoa, killer. You're doing what's known as "shooting the moon". I'd suggest trying a lower overclock first, say, 450 MHz. Then step it up to 475, then 500, then 525, and so on. If your computer wont boot or freezes in windows, then try upping the vcore.
See my AMD FAQ in my sig, there's some stuff on K6-X series overclocking in there.

ok...
I will try what your FAQ sais and step it up slowly. buut be ready for another post if it is a fail

BTW My moterboard diagram doesn't say anything about FS but it does say Bus Frequency (Mhz). this is the same thing right?

ok i have tried every single compination between FSB, VCore, and multipliers I possibally could concieve but with no success. (it would freeze everytime). Currently im running at 100*4.0 @ 2.4V
the default VCore is 2.2 so hopefully im not screwing anything up....
please tell me if i am

Your not but if 400mhz is your default speed and your running at that then why not just drop the voltage to default too? Just to play the safety. I've had my chip up to 3.1v for brief periods and 2.9v for several days but I lowered the speed and voltage just because I felt edgy about going that high. 2.4v should be fine. Just out of curiosity have you tried to underclock it? Maybe your system has issues with anything but it's rated specs.

no i haven't tried the underclock...I will sometime just out of being bored and possibly out of scientific reasons but first im going to try to overclock a little more. I just read that one should lower the FSB AND raise the multiplier which i had been doing to go up in small jumps but will see what happens
