This has happened for the second time in under 3 weeks. I put my new rma graphics card into, BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC into my system. Put the Fortron 530w into the computer. It was working fine up until I came home today. I was gaming on it all night long last night.
Now when I try to power it up, the psu fans turn on for a couple seconds, then its like the power has been cut off, the psu fans turn off. Its happened a couple weeks ago at a lan party as well. I have another Fortron 530w, but it has a dead exhaust fan.
Anyone have a solution to this problem? I know Fortron makes great power supplies, so I don't want to blame it on my psu, but something is wrong here.
Thanks for your help guys,

This could relate to your overclock and not the PSU. Try resetting the CMOS and see what happens. (I know it's a pain on the Neo2, but if it works then you will have an idea of how to proceed.)

Replace with the AX500-A or an OCZ PS520. The 530w can't handle too much 12v draw (unless it's the rare FSP530-60GL/SilenX 520w) - though it can exceed its ratings for a while, eventually it gives up. It is possible the overclock is just enough to exceed its capabilities.
I would have not figured it to be the PSU with it being a 530 watt Fortron, but it's amps not watts that are the bottom line. Oklahoma Wolf is the expert on that subject area so, I differ to him. But also, please be aware that in OC'ing the Neo2 if you OC just beyond the point of complete stability it may react by not booting after seemingly running fine. (The Neo2 is a very touchy beast!)

Ya, I know it can be a very touchy board at times. I'm gonna reset the CMOS in a little bit, I'll update you guys then. Its just a bummer that this had happened to my 2nd Fortron 530w psu. Oh well, I've always wanted to get an OCZ psu anyways. Thanks for the help, and I'll update you on how it went.

You're putting quite a heavy load on that power supply. Like OKWolf said, its a 5v based PSU. I'd definately switch it out for an AX500-A though. You can still get some decent cash for that PSU, however.

I just reset the CMOS, and it still won't power up. The system will power on for 1 second, then it will automatically shut down. This is the same situation that happened a couple weeks ago.
I can probably get some decent cash for these two power supplies like SolidxSnake said, but its hard to guarantee that they work 100% perfect you know. Its just a bummer since I just RMA'd my video card, and I got this PSU from a friend.
I guess I'll put these two power supplies up for sale and get one of the two power supplies you guys suggested.

Quick update...
I put my other Fortron 530w into the system. Its the psu I had since January, was working flawlessy since then. But a couple weeks ago the exhaust fan died as you might know. It powers my system fine, but I can't run my 6800 GT OC in it. I'm thinking of doing that zip-tie mod and installing another fan onto it. I'm wondering if that'll make it run my 6800 GT OC, or do I really need to get a new psu like you guys said.

Maybe - could be worth a try since you already have the 530's.
On a related note, my own exhaust fan is now making noises once in a while :bang head
Time to start saving up for my Zippy 460w...
