best ram timings

GeIL 512 ram

i was wondering what the best ram timings would be without killing the ram.

Depends on the type of RAM you have... Is it the GL5124000ASC?

Or is it 256*2

Is it ultra?

The 512MB stick of PC4000 should run 2-3-2-6 at 200MHz but drops to 2.5-4-4-7 at "stock" DDR500

I have seen 2.5-4-4-7 taken to 285MHz though at 3.1v

that board should do better with higher tRAS, something like 11. I don't really know why, i just know that's what the folks over at abit have told me.

It's some quirk of the nforce 2 chipset apparently, look in the middle of this post under the heading "The Anomaly: nVIDIA’s nForce2 and tRAS"
