I would give the vote to a Radeon 64 DDR vivo, cause video in and out is always useful , plus this card is quite overclockable, it will last a while till it needs to be replaced and it provides the best 2d video and dvd playback available. It is equal to a Geforce 2 GTS Pro card at 1024x768 32 bit colour and above.

Another good choice would be a Leadtek Geforce card, or any of these

Microstar Geforce II GTS Pro 64Mb AGP with TV out

Radeon 7500 VE 64MB DDR AGP4x with XP driver, DVi/DB15 Dual display, Video-out

ASUS V7700 Pure DDR Geforce II GTS Deluxe 64Mb AGP

Really there is a smogassboard of cards to choose from, some feel nvidia has better driver development and support, and say ATI sucks for driver support, but I have owned ATI and I have not really had driver issues, although recent reviews of the new Radeons 7500/8500 will critisize ATI for releasing a card which has some features that do not work and the drivers will need to be revised again to make the card work to its full potential.

But for price vs performance the Radeon 8500 is a best buy now at $203 from www.dell.com after 20% rebate. Why pay $100 more for a geforce card. IMHO I feel the best bang for the buck comes from ATI.

If you are adept with removing and reinstalling different drivers to find out what gives you the best performance I feel you can not go wrong with ATI cards. Right now there is a rebate on the ATI Radeon 64 DDR vivo (at least in canada and I am sure direct through ATI's site as well and it is a damn good card !!!

Thats my opinion and I am sure you will hear about other card choices.

I don't know much about video cards, but I really like my MSI 64MB DDR Geforce2 Pro(Starforce 831).

It overclocks well too, I have it at 230/472 right now with no problems.

I bought it about a month ago for $130 shipped:)

you made a good choice, only thing you will find the 2d video a bit fuzzy compared to ATi card. ATI is the best as far as 2 d quality and dvd playback but your card will probably be a touch faster.

Have fun and enjoy dude!!

Check www.pricewatch.com for prices when you make a decision. Just saw a Geforce 3 TI for 173.00 and a geforce 2 ultra for 169.:p
