I hope this is ok to link another forum in this thread but if not let me know because I really like the OC forums I have already learned so much and this us only my first post. http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=45&threadid=1721529&enterthread=y
Well I was able to talk him down to $300 shipped and I wanted to know if you all think this is a good deal. My biggest concern is will I be able to keep this in my rig for a good while before updating and is it decently OCable this will be my first build I think I plan on pairing it with a 3000+ because I hear this is the best bang for my buck and I would like to devote the most amount of money towards the Vid Card.
Oh sure I just save money all together and get a GTO and mod it?? Thanks

Thanks for the welcome will this card support most new games? I hear that fear is near impposible to run on the highest settings but as of right now I run all games on 800X600 so anything is a step up.
Oh BTW I find these forums to be far more helpful I've read numerous stickies and already learned so much

yep, looks like a fair price, Depends if you want to pay an additional 30 to 40 bucks and have a new one. Dell has the same card: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=A0513443&c=us&l=en&cs=19&category_id=6171&first=true&mnf=10328&k=&page=productlisting.aspx
377-30 mail in rebate = $347
I would make sure that the warranty applies. If it does, go for it!

I think the card will be just fine, but your 3000+ could be a bottleneck with extremely demanding games.

well u are right about fear it is very very demanding.....i havent played it yet but i have been playing quake 4 and with a 6800gt and a 3.6p4 its tough....i play at 1024by768 but at some points i do get slowdowns........part of my problem is my proc and i have 6800series.......
bottom line u should be in good shape with 7800gt and a good amd proc ( will u be overclocking?) u wont be running 1600by1200 80fps but expect some nice performance

Will this run most new games well? This is my first build will I be able to over clock? I hear good things about the 3000+ is it worth the $10 extra dollars for the 3200+? What typer of PSU would I need? Is that the right type of RAM with the CPU I don't think I would need DDR 400 because even with OCing I would never get the HTT up to 200 so this might be an area where I could save myself a little money but please let me know. Thanks!
